The LNBP regular season came to an end

The COVID-19 pandemic has not ended, and the sports world continues to take extreme precautions in order to preserve the health of all participants. As happened with other leagues, the LNBP season was atypical due to the pandemic, so in the face of the threat of an outbreak in Mexico, the authorities decided to put an end to it and move on to the Playoffs immediately.

Through a statement issued by the LNBP General Commissioner, it was announced that the LNBP regular season came to an end with a couple of rounds to go and the guests for the Playoffs having been defined. In this decision, the situation in Mexico was taken into account, where the increase in positive cases for coronavirus has been on the rise in previous days. The teams qualified for the Postseason are:

  • West Zone: Soles, Aguacateros, Libertadores and Astros
  • East Zone: Miners, Dorados, Royal Force and Lumberjacks

The Mineros de Zacatecas were the best team of the regular season, reaping 15 wins by 3 losses, while in the West Zone, Soles and Aguacateros finished with a 13-5 record. The conference semifinals will start on November 3, and it is expected that by November 22 we will already have a Mexican basketball monarch.
