Dresden Monarchs will start the 2020 American football season against Hildesheim on May 2nd
The Dresden Royal Squad is currently sweating in training halls and fitness studios. The Monarchs coach is spotting players and is currently in negotiations with several interesting players.
The management of the Saxon Bundesliga club recently announced the first international re-signings. With AJ Wentland, Tim Jesse Hagmann and KeVonn Mabon, the central pillars of the last season could be held.
So things are going with the monarchs – and according to plan. In three months’ time, Ulrich Däuber’s team will start the 2020 season with a test match. The 2020 GFL season will begin for Dresden on May 2nd.
“The GFL schedule and thus our plan for the 2020 season is in place. In seven home and seven away games, we want to buy our ticket for the playoffs again this year, which will start on September 19 and 20, 2020. Our big dream is of course to reach the German Bowl again, which will take place in Frankfurt am Main on October 10th. But until then there is still a long and rocky road ahead of us. The teams from Braunschweig and Schwäbisch Hall are favorites again in 2020. As an underdog, we feel right at home and are looking forward to a hopefully exciting season, ”reports Jörg Dreßler, Managing Director of the Dresden Monarchs.
New to the GFL Nord this year are the Elmshorn Fighting Pirats. The team, which was founded in 1991, achieved promotion to the GFL last year with a record of twelve wins and two defeats.
