The COM, obliged to recognize tennis president

He Mexican Olympic Committee was forced to recognize, provisionally, the executive committee of the Mexican Tennis Federation, AC, headed by Carlos Ricardo González López de Lara, but if the disputes between the groups that fight for the power of the body are not settled, it runs the risk of being disenrolled.

Carlos Padilla Becerra, president of the COM, explained: “There are two groups that dispute the Federation [uno encabezado por Carlos González y otro por Mario Chávez], and one of them asked a judge for recognition in three days, we did not do it, we explained why, they granted us an extension of 10 days, which has already been fulfilled and we had to give recognition, but it is provisional ”.

The COM has tried to conciliate between the parties, “and there was no good answer.” Now what worries is that if this dispute continues, “there is a risk that the Federation will be disaffiliated and it will not be possible to participate in international tournaments,” although this would not affect a possible participation of Mexican tennis players in the Olympic Games.

The International Tennis Federation is no stranger to the problem and has requested both parties to annul the results of the elections and “call an elective General Meeting in full accordance with the statutes of the FMT” to carry out another election correctly with the COM, the Conade and the Cotecc as observers. The above must be done before November 20.
