The American has meanwhile dominated women’s tennis at will. She has been playing on the professional tour since 1995 and has won 82 tournaments, including 23 Grand Slams. The American is arguably the best slalom skier of all time. She won her first World Cup at the age of 17, eight years later she has three Olympic medals, seven World Cup medals and three overall World Cup victories, and her 17 victories of the 2018/19 season were a record.

For two years she has also competed for podium places in the speed disciplines. Can already build on her impressive legacy, Lindsey Vonn (4) and Annemarie Moser-Pröll (6) are still ahead of her in the overall World Cups.

The gymnast has won more world championship medals than she is years old. The 23-year-old American has 25 precious metals at world championships, plus five Olympic medals, and with her ascent she also defied the disturbing experiences she had to go through in the scandalous training regime.

The Serb last gave away the big chance of his 18th Grand Slam title at the US Open, when he was disqualified after an outburst, with no chance against Rafael Nadal’s gala form in Paris. Still on the best way to eternal records.

The 33-year-old spent almost 300 weeks at number one in the world rankings (Roger Federer’s record is 310) and earned a good $ 145 million in prize money. He won each of the four major tennis tournaments at least once.

If you’ve been into golf for the past two decades, you can’t ignore the name Woods.

15 major victories – only Jack Nicklaus had three more -, a total of 108 tournament successes, twelve years as the world number one – these are the numbers of a unique career that was also marked by scandals and setbacks, but also by impressive comebacks about the late win of the Masters 2019 after eleven years of the Grand Slam losing streak.

The Formula 1 driver breaks one record after the other. He has achieved most of the pole positions for a long time, and since the Eifel Grand Prix he has also been able to call himself Grand Prix record winner together with Michael Schumacher. He won 91 races.

Probably the best clay court tennis player in history caught up with record Grand Slam winner Roger Federer with his 13th title in Roland Garros. Both are now at 20 successes.

The Spaniard also won the Davis Cup five times and took Olympic gold in Beijing in 2008.

4. PLATZ – CRISTIANO RONALDO:

The Portuguese – who is currently worried about a corona infection – won the national championship at least once in three European top leagues.

The striker celebrated his greatest successes with Manchester United and Real Madrid. Five times Champions League winner and record scorer with 130 goals. The 35-year-old has been named the best footballer in the world five times and with Portugal 2016 European champion.

The Swiss is a record winner in Grand Slam tournaments with 20 titles – since the French Open 2020 together with Rafael Nadal. With 310 weeks at number one in the world rankings, no other tennis player has stayed in the sun for so long.

The 39-year-old is considered a player with the best one-handed backhand and a highly recognized sportsman. For the SPORT1-User the greatest ever.
