The All-Star who could land at the Lakers in the offseason

To go in defense of their title of NBA champions, the Lakers will have to strengthen themselves in certain positions, in order to erase some big gaps. According to an insider, a former All-Star could land in the City of Angels to strengthen the interior sector. The fit looks perfect.

The Lakers have barely come out of the playoffs concluded by a title, that speculation on the future of the workforce is rife. Who will go? Who will stay? Which players will arrive during the free agency? The vagueness seems for the moment complete, since no less than 10 players will be free within a few weeks.

What we can already announce with certainty is that some players will take advantage of this title to seek a juicy contract elsewhere. It is said for example that Rajon Rondo reportedly considering ending his career in another franchise than Los Angeles by building on its impressive campaign.

Dwight Howard could also take advantage of his good season to find a significant playing time with another contender for the title… And in the event of Superman’s departure, a replacement worthy of the name will have to be found. According to Jonathan Kiernan, insider for the site Fansided, a former All-Star could be a realistic target.

For a player of his size, and who plays at his post, LaMarcus Aldridge is an exceptional shooter. With Aldridge on the pitch, teams will no longer disrespect the Lakers as they could with Dwight Howard or JaVale McGee in the 5. He’s far too consistent and efficient for the defenses to give him room.

This arrival would leave even more room for Anthony Davis and LeBron James to score near the basket, and therefore destroy the opposing defenses. And when Aldridge plays halfway, AD could take the opportunity to show the quality of his game outside.

To make such an arrival possible, Kiernan talks about an exchange with Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, and possibly JaVale McGee. Gregg Popovich would not spit on such a deal, since he would have fallen “in love” with the qualities of Kuzma while coaching him at Team USA. But would the Lakers be ready to part ways with a young talent for an All-Star in the end?

LaMarcus Aldridge may be 35 years old, but he remains a solid interior and very easy offensively. If the Lakers believe he will bring more than a disappointing Kyle Kuzma, this trade is more than credible.
