The 2020 AFL Grand Final is here – this is where Geelong and Richmond meet and as you can see

The big AFL final 2020 is just around the corner. Richmond and Geelong face the ultimate prize at the end of their most tumultuous season.

As you might expect, a lot has changed this year. The grand final was sent to Brisbane due to the coronavirus situation in Melbourne and the AFL took the opportunity to plan the first night decider in league history.

When is the big AFL final 2020?

Saturday, October 24th at 6.30pm AEST – This is Brisbane time.

Here is when the first jump in your time zone takes place:

  • Victoria / New South Wales / ACT / Tasmania: 7.30 p.m. AEDT
  • South Australia: 7 p.m. ACDT
  • Northern Territory: 6 p.m. ACST
  • Western Australia: 4.30 p.m. AUGUST

Where is the big AFL final 2020?

The grand finale was driven out of Melbourne for the first time and after a lengthy tendering process, the AFL decided on the Gabba as the venue of their choice.

Much of the season was played in Queensland that season, with many teams from across the country forced into hubs on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Who is in the grand finale?

Richmond and Geelong.

The Tigers finished third on the ladder and the Cats fourth, and interestingly, both teams lost their first qualifying final – to Brisbane and Port Adelaide respectively.

After both teams had a double chance of finishing in the top four, they rallied to advance to the grand finale. Richmond is aiming for his third term in four years while Geelong is aiming for his first since 2011.

Can I get AFL Grand Final tickets?

No it is everything now sold out.

For the first time in more than 20 years, a small number of general admission tickets went on sale earlier in the week, but all of them became available remarkably quickly.

The Queensland government did The number of visitors was limited to 30,000 and all these places are now taken.

How can I see the grand finale?

Kanal 7 has the rights for the television broadcastand the game will be on the station’s main channel across the country.

ABC Grandstand will have a live radio commentary while you can watch the game online on our live blog.

What entertainment will there be at the grand finale this year?

It’s a purely Australian affair this year DMAs, Cub Sport, Thelma Plum, Busby Marou, Sheppard and Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother. The Queensland Symphony Orchestra will also perform.

Performances will be split between the game and halftime this year, with Brisbane band Sheppard providing halftime entertainment.

What is the weather forecast for the big final day?

The Bureau of Meteorology predicts a possible shower on Saturday afternoonand says there is one Probability of a thunderstorm from late morning.

The maximum temperature for the day is expected to be 29 degrees but will likely drop to around 23 degrees by game time.
