Test des Adidas X Ghosted

We had the chance to test Adidas’ new technological marvel in terms of football boots, the X Ghosted. I’m talking about luck because the X Ghosted has the reputation of being “just seen” by opponents, so it allows you to be fast. So we’ll talk to you quickly …

Revolutionize your game with this new football boot, this is the promise of Adidas X Ghosted Plus FG which benefit from Vacuum Fit technology, which uses a four-way stretch material to facilitate entry into the shoe, while sucking the shoe air. The 3D molded heel gives you the perfect fit. The translucent Mirageskin upper fuses a layer of waterproof material with a wire frame and mesh that conforms to your foot to provide a second-skin feel for ultimate ball control, while the CarbiteX Speedframe uses a dynamic carbon fiber plate to help you when accelerating and the Sprint Construct technology uses a slight tip spring to put you in a sprinting position so you can pass the defense with ease.

We suggest you watch this video with the presentation of the shoe by a Product Manager and a Senior Product Designer of the shoe (it’s in English but there are French subtitles if necessary)

Aesthetic

The new Adidas X Ghosted boots are mainly white with the 3 stripes on the front colored in gold, which is also the color used for the side graphic.
Mostly white-iridescent, there are black dots on the front of the sole – these are carbon fiber inserts.
An inverted Adidas logo is placed on the tongue of the boots, reminiscent of the old F50s as well as the last 99 gram boots marketed by the brand.

Its unique, ghostly and semi-transparent aesthetic visually represents the sensation it gives to athletes. Further nods to speed can be found in the details, with the three-stripe placement inspired by the wings of the peregrine falcon – the fastest creature on earth.

Comfort

With the absence of laces, it is complicated to “loosen” the shoe to put it on easily. On the other hand, once inside, the foot is very well supported and the shoe comfortable. Thanks to a slip-on vacuum fit: New 4-way stretch material makes it easier to enter and lock securely. The boot adapts perfectly to the foot, allowing a vacuum fit. In addition, the X Ghosted is equipped with Mirageskin technology. Which corresponds to an ultra light composite material that molds around the foot like a second skin.

At the heel, 2 pads provide comfort and lock to prevent heel slipping. An innovative new slit in the middle of the heel relieves pressure on the Achilles tendon.

The ultralight Fluroskin upper features a metal frame support system for stability, and the lacing system features a modernized tongue for a snug, locked-in fit.

For the first time, a ‘DE VACUUM FIT’ experience allows players to feel air drawn quickly out of the shoe when worn, creating a super tight fit that supports explosive movements thanks to its proximity to the contours of the shoe. foot.

Speed

The X Ghosted .1 FG shoes feature an all new Speedframe sole with a carbon fiber insert for next level speed and acceleration. Thanks to their light and aerodynamic design, the X Ghosted allow very smooth acceleration, even on soft terrain.

The X Ghosted’s raised forefoot allows for immediate acceleration from the start when standing up, in combination with an elastic Carbitex carbon fiber insert in the sole and a new lug pattern optimized to propel you forward, generating a maximum speed in the blink of an eye. Indeed, this plate was designed to help during moments of propulsion and acceleration on the ground.

Hit

Regarding this aspect, we did not feel any particular reinforcement on the shoe. The ultra-light Mirageskin does not accentuate the strikes of the kick. It really is a shoe geared towards speed and ball feel. Which doesn’t prevent an attacker like Timo Werner from wearing Ghosted Xs!

The X GHOSTED has been worn by the fastest in current and future football since August 5, including Mohamed Salah, Heung-Mon Son, Gabriel Jesus and Vivanne Miedema.
