Stephen Silas new coach of the Houston Rockets!

The Houston Rockets hold their coach! Woj reports that Stephen Silas, assistant to the Dallas Mavericks, finalizes a contract to succeed Mike D’Antoni.

Son of the legend Paul Silas, he was announced among the finalists to get the job with Jeff Van Gundy and John Lucas. He was also a candidate for the Pacers and Bulls.

At 47 this will be his very first experience as a head coach in the NBA. He started his career as a Boy Scout with the Hornets in 1999 before moving to Assistant the following year. He was then assistant to the Cavaliers, scout to the Wizards, assistant to the Warriors and then returned to the Hornets in 2010 before joining Rick Carlisle in Dallas. He played an important role in Dallas in setting up the attack.
