Six Bulls’ champion rings sold for $ 256,000 at auction

Up for auction two weeks ago, six Bulls Champion Rings all sold individually for a total of $ 256,000. Their starting price was $ 5,000 each.

In detail, this gives $ 39,360 for that of 1991, $ 47,970 for that of 1992, $ 45,510 for that of 1993, $ 24,600 for that of 1996, $ 49,200 for that of 1997 and finally $ 49,200. for that of 1998.

These rings were originally owned by John Capps, a former franchise security official. Died in 2018 at the age of 88, he had officiated for more than 50 years in Chicago.

As we can see in the documentary “The Last Dance”, he was notably known for being one of the security guards with whom Michael Jordan bet money before each of his matches.

The 11 heirs of John Capps, for whom the rings had no sentimental value according to USA Today, will therefore share the profits of this auction.
