SBK. Jonathan Rea vince Gara1 a Magny Cours – Superbike

Leading from the first to the last lap, Jonathan Rea vince gara1 at Magny Cours, running in the pouring rain. The world champion started very well from the third position of the grid and took the lead, while at the first corner Sykes crashed after a contact with Gerloff and dragged his teammate with him. The only ones who kept up with Johnny were Loris Baz and Garrett Gerloff, but on the seventh lap the American asked too much of his R1 and crashed. Baz remained glued to Kawasaki number 1 until the fifteenth lap, when the Cannibal set the fastest lap of the race and detached the tough French rider, who at that point decided that a second place would be much better than a crash trying to win. Behind the two good race for Alex Lowes, firmly in third place for most of the race.

Nice fight for fifth place behind the Kawasaki rider, between Redding, Razgatlioglu and Haslam. The Englishman from Ducati remained in ninth position for many laps, only to wake up in the final part of the race, when he moved up the rankings to reach the pair formed by Haslam and Razgtalioglu. On the last lap the Honda rider tried all out but was the victim of a high side that gave the green light to Redding and Razgatlioglu. Rinaldi made no mistakes and finished a judicious race in seventh place. The crashes of the BMW drivers, of Geloff and of Haslam favored the eighth position of a generous Xavi Fores with the Ninja of the Pedercini team. Behind him was Van der Mark. The Yamaha Dutchman was around sixth / seventh position when he crashed, he got back on his R1 but couldn’t do better than ninth position. Tenth place for Mercado and eleventh for our Caricasulo. Bautista, still in the last positions in practice and in Superpole, takes home 4 points after a colorless race. No points for Cavalieri, sixteenth at the finish.
