RDS Direct: Félix Auger-Aliassime faces his compatriot Vasek Pospisil in Vienna

For the fourth time since 2018, Canadians Félix Auger-Aliassime and Vasek Pospisil will face each other in an ATP Tour match.

Auger-Aliassime and Popsisil will cross swords in the first round of the Open Erste Bank in Vienna on Wednesday morning.

The duel will be presented around 11 a.m. on RDS and RDS Direct.

So far, the 20-year-old tennis player has won each of three matches against his compatriot, the most recent of which was at the Rogers Cup in Montreal in 2019.

The 21st player in the world reached the sixth final of his young career two weeks ago in Cologne, Germany, before losing to Germany’s Alexander Zverev in two sets.

Pospisil carved out a place in the main draw of this 500-caliber tournament by winning two qualifying matches earlier in the week.

He last played on October 13, where he lost in the first round of the tournament in St. Petersburg to Russian Andrey Rublev, eventual winner of the tournament.

On Monday, the other Canadian in contention, Denis Shapovalov (8th favorite) lost in his first match, against the 153rd player in the world, the Austrian Jurij Rodionov.
