At one time, the talented Russian hockey player Nails Yakupov changed the team again, informs the Continental Hockey League (KHL).

27-year-old striker Yakupov has moved from Khabarovsk “Amur” to Omsk’s “Avangard”, which is being coached by Latvian national teammate Bob Hartley. Omsk exchanged him for cash compensation.

After the end of last KHL season, the first issue of the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) draft Jakupov was changed from the St. Petersburg SKA to the Moscow region “Vityaz”. Formally, the attacker did not even spend a month in this team, because in the middle of June he was changed once more to “Amur”.

He has now joined Avangard, which means that he has been to four KHL clubs in less than a year.

In the 2012 NHL draft, Yakupov was chosen by the Edmonton Oilers as the number one. After six seasons in the world’s strongest league, the Oilers, St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche, he expanded the SKA ranks in 2018.

This season, Yakupov has played 15 matches, during which he scored one goal and made six assists.

At the NHL level, Yakupov has played 350 games and KHL 130 games. He is expected to never return to the NHL.
