It looks like the Washington football team has had enough of quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
According to the NFL Network, the second-year hub has been relegated to the third quarterback position. Kyle Allen will get the start against the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday.
Alex Smith will act as a replacement, which means Haskins won’t even be dressed for this clash.
Haskins had been Washington’s starter since midseason 2019. This year, he completed 61% of his passes attempted for 939 yards and four touchdowns. He was also the victim of three interceptions.
For his part, Allen is a player who has played in the NFL since the 2018 season, when he was hired by the Carolina Panthers as a free agent. In the last campaign he was number 1 on this team, after Cam Newton fell in battle.
He had 62% of his passes for 3,322 yards and 17 majors. Allen was acquired by Washington against a 2020 fifth-round pick on March 24.
