NFL: the Jaguars release Fournette

The Jacksonville Jaguars surprised the football world on Monday morning when they released running back Leonard Fournette.

The NFL team made the announcement on their Twitter account.

The 25-year-old was the first-round pick [quatrième au total] des Jaguars in 2017.

In three seasons on the Goodell Circuit, Fournette ran with the ball 666 times, amassing 2,631 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also caught 134 passes for 1,009 yards and two majors.

Earlier this year, Jacksonville opted out of the option for a fifth year under his running back’s contract.

According to the NFL Network, the Jaguars have tried to trade Fournette, but they have not found a partner to dance with. They finally decided to release him and will save a little over $ 4 million on their payroll.
