NFL: Irregularities in COVID-19 Testing?

Several COVID-19 test scans performed by a single New Jersey lab gave false positive diagnoses on Saturday, the Chicago Bears and the NFL revealed on Sunday morning.

After additional tests, the Bears have indeed argued that nine members of their organization who had obtained positive results the day before do not ultimately suffer from the disease. They nevertheless postponed their daily training to 1:30 p.m., when it was originally scheduled for 9:20 a.m.

On the New York Jets side, 10 “false positives” would be counted, according to ESPN, then six with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Minnesota Vikings got 12 positive results from the same lab. This situation forced the circuit to open an investigation.

“Saturday’s daily COVID-19 tests returned several positive tests in each of the teams served by the same New Jersey lab,” the NFL wrote in a statement. We are working with our testing partner, BioReference, to investigate these results, while clubs are working to confirm or rule out positive tests. ”

The Cleveland Browns have notably achieved several positive results in their ranks. They immediately canceled the day’s training and proceeded to clean their facilities. They said, however, that none of the team had symptoms.

“Clubs are taking immediate precautionary measures as outlined in NFL Health and Safety Protocols [et de l’Association des joueurs], including contact tracing, isolating individuals and temporarily adjusting the schedule, if necessary, the NFL added. The other labs used for NFL testing did not have similar results. ”

According to information from ESPN, the names of only four athletes out of more than 3,000 present at the various training camps are currently on the list of players affected by COVID-19.

The Tour’s season is set to kick off on September 10 with a duel between the Houston Texans and current Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
