Marcelo Mexsen: New CT Annual Golf Champion!

Torreón, Coahuila.- In a brilliant way and making history, being the first youth player, under 18 years of age, to win the Championship category, Marcelo Mexsen was proclaimed champion of the 46th edition of the Torreón Campestre Annual Golf Tournament, upon finishing with a final score of 211 strokes, after three highly contested rounds, deservingly closing as number one in this prestigious competition, considered the main one in the north of the country.

Mexsen, who is a member of the Academia Tigers del Campestre Torreón, maintained a high level the three days of activity and although in the final round he was beaten, just by one blow, by Mauricio Obeso and Héctor Villarreal, what was done in the first two, It was enough to prevail by a wide margin over all his opponents, achieving 211 strokes, by 219 from Obeso Anaya who was second, with third place corresponding to Antonio Safa with 220.

“Very grateful to all the people who have helped me in the process and to move forward, think about the future,” were the first impressions of the youthful Marcelo Mexsen, who was congratulated greatly by all his colleagues at the Tigers Academy.

Although the Lagunero golfer faced highly experienced competitors, he always had confidence, coupled with his good sense, he concluded at the top of the ranking:

“I did feel the pressure, especially in the first round, but already in the second I was able to recover with very good birdies to close out well.”

Very attentive to Marcelo’s performance was Pamela, director of the Campestre Torreón Golf Academy, who spoke about the qualities of the youth golfer:
