Mandalika Team Racing Indonesia is prohibited from launching a team at Kemenpora

Jakarta

Mandalika Racing Team Indonesia’s plan to launch a team at the Kemenpora office failed. Kemenpora does not allow it because it is not in its authority.

This was conveyed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gatot S. Dewa Broto, in his official statement. This also confirms the news circulating in the media regarding the approval of the plan to hold a press conference by the Mandalika Racing Team Indonesia on Wednesday, October 28 on the Kemenpora page.

“It is true, that on October 27 we had the arrival of Mandalika Racing Team Indonesia, who wished to convey the plan for the press conference. But when reminded by the Minister of Youth and Sports, it would be the matter of IMI and Dorna,” said Gatot.

He then emphasized that the leading sector for the preparation and implementation of MotoGP 2021 in Mandalika is the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, so that the Ministry of Youth and Sports does not want to exceed its authority limits.

Another thing he emphasized was related to the authority and granting of licenses for the holding of MotoGP 2021 at Mandalika, namely Dorna Sports as the full owner of all commercial rights and broadcasting of the event.

“Kemenpora, as the person in charge of sports, still opens opportunities for people who want to participate and form a team of riders for MotoGP 2021 in Mandalika,” he continued.

“However, we still have to coordinate with IMI as the parent organization for motor sports, both cars and motorbikes in Indonesia.”

“As applies to coordination with other sports, Kemenpora only coordinates not with individuals and / or sports clubs but with the main sports branch organizations. So that in terms of the readiness of these racers, it is directly with IMI,” he explained.

“Thus, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has not been able to allow the holding of a press conference on October 28 at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. If the press conference will be held elsewhere, Kemenpora has no objection.”

In addition, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, was also not scheduled to attend the event. Because that date is the culmination of the 92th Youth Pledge Day activity which has been long planned.
