Arsenal inject £ 110million on Liverpool Partey
Thomas Partey was linked to a possible move to Liverpool earlier this year but the midfielder will now be leaving Atletico Madrid for Arsenal, which could cost the Gunners a staggering £ 110million, according to a report.
The Mirror says Mikel Arteta’s team made the dramatic transfer coup as of the cut-off date by triggering Party’s £ 52.5million clause on his contract with the Spanish football authorities.
They also pay Partey £ 260,000 per week on a four year contract with an option, £ 2.5 million registration fee and ten percent brokerage commission all in one stunning package.
Her piece adds:
Arsenal had been trying to negotiate with Atletico all summer but knew they always had the option to trigger the buy-out clause that is standard in player contracts in Spain.
It’s a relatively straightforward process, but the biggest problem was whether they had enough time to get the deal across the line.
