Liverpool Transfer News LIVE – Thomas Partey faces rivals, Paulo Gazzaniga claims on Deadline Day

Arsenal inject £ 110million on Liverpool Partey

Atletico de Madrid’s Thomas Partey battles Liverpool FC’s Andrew Robertson for the ball during the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match between Atletico Madrid and Liverpool FC at Wanda Metropolitano

Thomas Partey was linked to a possible move to Liverpool earlier this year but the midfielder will now be leaving Atletico Madrid for Arsenal, which could cost the Gunners a staggering £ 110million, according to a report.

The Mirror says Mikel Arteta’s team made the dramatic transfer coup as of the cut-off date by triggering Party’s £ 52.5million clause on his contract with the Spanish football authorities.

They also pay Partey £ 260,000 per week on a four year contract with an option, £ 2.5 million registration fee and ten percent brokerage commission all in one stunning package.

Her piece adds:

Arsenal had been trying to negotiate with Atletico all summer but knew they always had the option to trigger the buy-out clause that is standard in player contracts in Spain.

It’s a relatively straightforward process, but the biggest problem was whether they had enough time to get the deal across the line.
