Kik Pierie will make his official debut for FC Twente on Saturday evening. The Ajax mercenary was injured in preparation for the new season, but is fit enough to take over from the departed Xandro Schenk.
Schenk is currently in Saudi Arabia to complete a transfer to Al-Batin. Mohamed Rayhi previously reached an agreement with Al-Batin. Pierie has to be Schenk’s successor at Twente and gets the chance against Emmen to make his first official minutes in the Twente shirt. Godfried Roemeratie is not fit enough to start and is replaced by Ramiz Zerrouki.
Last week, FC Emmen saw Glenn Bijl be sent off with a red card against Willem II, but this card was dropped by the disciplinary committee of the KNVB. The right back therefore ‘just’ starts in the base at Emmen. Trainer Dick Lukkien sends the same eleven names onto the field as against Willem II.
