“Ķekava” also defeats Kocēni team “Rubene-1” with huge difficulties
In the ELVI floorball league for women, the second victory in two days was won by FK “Ķekava”, which in its field only with 8:7 beat the second team of Kocēni floorball club “Rubene-1” – “Rubene-1”. The most productive among the winners with 3 (2 + 1) points was Ieva Bušmane.
The current vice-champion FK “Ķekava” started the new season with a loss, but yesterday he won the first one, defeating the Riga team “NND / RJTC” with the guests 19: 2. Tonight the bunches hosted the Kocēni team “Rubene-1” in their field, which is fighting perfectly in the Premier League, collecting eight points in three games. The young Kocēni women also started the match against Ķekava well – already in the 6th minute Madlēna Rozīte realized the numerical majority of her team (1: 0). In the 9th minute, the home striker Nensija Šimkūna restored the draw (1: 1), but after the first period, the guests were in the lead again – 2: 1. The second third started with a rejection by the Ķekava team for procrastination. Rubene-1 also used this numerical majority – 3: 1. After such a turn, “Ķekavas” coach Pēteris Stepītis decided to entrust the safety of his team’s goal to the main goalkeeper Kristīne Kirilova, who had previously acted as a field player. Until the second break, the housewives were able to recover one goal – 2: 3. In the last ten minutes of regular time, “Ķekava” finally managed to take the reins, gain a two-goal lead (8: 6) and successfully protect it by celebrating the second victory in the tournament – 8: 7.
The best player in the ranks was Katrīna Kate Fībiga, who scored two goals in this match. Justīne Marta Upeniece also scored two goals, 2 (1 + 1) points for Nensija Šimkūna, but the most productive with 3 (2 + 1) points was Ieva Bušmane. The goal of the best player in the Kocēni team was received by the goalkeeper Sintija Bāliņa, who repelled 48 out of 56 opponents’ shots. Marta Drille was the most productive in her team with 4 (3 + 1) points, Madlēna Rozīte and Linda Līce with 3 (1 + 2) points, but Elīna Sirmā stood out with two goals. After this victory, “Ķekava” has six points and a step to the 4th place in the tournament table, but the team “Rubene-1” still has eight points and 3rd place.
