Kimmich Wins Die Roten 2-1

Bayern Munich successfully silenced Lokomotiv Moscow in matchday II Champions League. The Reds win 2-1 to stay top of Group A.

At the RZD Arena on Wednesday (28/10/2020) early morning WIB, Bayern led 1-0 in the first half thanks to a goal from Leon Goretzka. The hosts equalized through Aleksei Miranchuk in the 70th minute.

Bayern locked the victory through Joshua Kimmich’s shot in the 79th minute. Bayern closed the match 2-1 and established themselves at the top of Group A with six points.

Lokomotiv is currently in second place with one point from two matches, winning on goal difference over RB Salzburg. Salzburg, until this news was published, is facing Atletico Madrid (fourth place) at the Wanda Metropolitano on this matchday II.

The course of the match

Bayern immediately received a threat in the third minute. Anton Miranchuk’s cross heads towards Fedor Smolov, but the Lokomotiv forward fails to finish into the net.

Bayern dominated possession and their pressure paid off in the 13th minute. Corentin Tolisso’s pass was received by Benjamin Pavard on the right, who caught the ball at the first opportunity.

Pavard’s pass led to Leon Goretzka in the middle of the penalty box, who then gore him into the net.

Bayern almost doubled the lead in the 25th minute. Kingsley Coman fired a shot and just hit the post.

Lokomotiv eyes Bayern’s high-line defense with regional passes. But the Bayern defender is still readily reading the direction of the attack.

Pavard gets the opportunity to experiment from outside the penalty box in the 41st minute. The kick was still right at the goalkeeper.

A minute later, Lokomotiv threatened back. Daniil Kulilov surged down the right and directed a hard, horizontal strike which Manuel Neuer could still push. The first half ended.

Javi Martinez’s header snatched Joshua Kimmich’s pass only soared in the 51st minute. Meanwhile, Kimmich’s shot six minutes later was blocked by a defender.

David Alaba swept Ze Luis’ barrier across the goal line in the 61st minute. Later the linesman declared Luis in an offside position.

Bayern get a penalty in the 64th minute, after Lewandowski was brought down by Kulikov. But the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) corrected the referee’s decision and canceled the penalty.

Neuer saved Ignatjev’s chances in the 68th minute. Two minutes later, Lokomotiv leveled the score after Miranchuk finished Luis’s pass.

GOAL! Bayern returned to lead in the 79th minute. Martinez’s bait was received by Kimmich and was completed with a volley that the goalkeeper could not stop.

Until the game is over, no more goals are scored.
