Aaron Rodgers didn’t like what he saw in the practice field last week when the Packers said goodbye.
Neither does Matt LaFleur.
There’s not always a direct correlation with game performance, but in this case there was.
“I think we needed a little kick in the ass,” said Rodgers after a 38-10 loss to the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday.
“There is a bit of waking up to not feel so much anymore and going back to the things that put us in this position. I think that would be sadly but fortunately something we can really grow from.”
That’s the job that’s evolving because instead of staying one of just two undefeated teams in the NFC, the Packers are now in one of five clubs in the conference with four or more wins. Four other NFC teams have three wins.
It will be busy all season and the Packers can’t be beaten twice by a poor performance like this one. The next week’s opponent, Houston, rallied from 21 points against the undefeated Tennessee to take a couple of late leads only to lose in overtime.
