SANTA MARGHERITA DI PULA, Italy – Serbian Laslo Djere defeated Italian Marco Cecchinato in the final of the Sardinian Omnium on Sunday.
Djere won 7-6 (3), 7-5, confirming his victory with a deep backhand return.
This is for Djere a second career title, both on clay.
Cecchinato erased a 3-0 delay in the second set and also saved a match point before finally surrendering.
The tournament had been added to the ATP schedule due to adjustments forced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
