Harvey Elliott reveals Liverpool text messages after scoring first goal for Blackburn Rovers

Harvey Elliott has announced that he is in constant communication with his teammates in Liverpool while on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

The teenager left Anfield on the day of the transfer deadline to spend the season at Ewood Park for regular time.

Elliott started his first championship game in the middle of the week during Rovers’ 3-1 loss to Watford and was again in the starting XI against Coventry City on Saturday.

The Liverpool loaner scored his first goal for the club and assisted in a dominant 4-0 win, albeit with the help of a very early red card for the hosts.

After the game, Elliott showed that he is in constant contact with his teammates after every game.

“You text me every day,” he told LancsLive.

“After every training session, after every game, write me a message.

“I still got messages from the players saying good luck, I hope you are fine, I miss you and things like that. So when they text me, that’s a boost for me too.”

Commenting on his loan spell and the result, Elliott said, “The main result is key here.

“I was just happy to score and contribute to the win. Hopefully it’s the first of many, but I’m just curious to see what really happens.

“It’s just the beginning, I still have a long way to go. I take it day in and day out and hope that I can use my training and games to show people what I can do.

“After we won 1-0 we didn’t feel well, but we could play our football and keep it going and then we killed them.”

“A couple of us had some good chances that we should have put down, but luckily we cleared them in the second half.

“It just shows what this team has. It has a lot of creative players, a lot of technical players, and it was a good goal.

“It can be harder when the teams sit back. They protect the goal which makes it harder to collapse. In fairness they did well in the first half but like any team they would have been lucky and we could kill them.” .

“Everyone has a lot of fun on this team. I think we all play together, we all want to give each other opportunities and there is a selflessness in this team, but hard work comes with it too.”

“The main goal for me this season is to really bring the team the closest to promotion. I think that’s my main goal.

“Help the team and I think Blackburn deserves to be in the Premier League. It’s a great club with great players. Even against Watford we showed the quality we have in the team and they are too a decent team. “
