Harm Vanhoucke: “A bad stage to have a bad day” | Giro

“I didn’t really feel good in the beginning”, chuffed Harm Vanhoucke after the hellish 10th stage. “I got into trouble even then.”

“They drove for two hours. It was a bad stage to have a bad day.”

“It is a bit of the toll of the first week, where I had to go à bloc every time.”

“Somewhere I expected that I would crash. I feared today’s stage with those steep kinks every time. That doesn’t suit me very well.”

Vanhoucke lost more than 3 minutes on the toppers. “That is not too bad.”

“In the final week the differences will be bigger and I expect that a few more men will fall through.”
