French Open: women’s doubles apparently under suspicion of manipulation

The French Open is currently running in Paris. The Grand Slam tournament is one of the most important in the tennis world. It now emerged that a women’s doubles match could have been rigged.

In Paris, the tennis elite fights at theFrench Open currently about to move into the second round. But the high-quality competition could now get a damper. As the “Welt” reports, a women’s double from September 30th is suspected of being manipulated.

The focus is therefore on the match between the Romanians Andreea Mitu and Patricia Maria Tig and the duo of the American Madison Brengle and the Russian Yana Sizikova. It’s about the second sentence. Two double mistakes by the Russian Sizikova had already caught the eye of viewers.

Betting providers would have sounded the alarm about suspicious stakes. The amount of the bets placed is also not known.
