Federica Del Bosco, the Mendoza who traveled by taxi to Buenos Aires to join the national team

Federica Del Bosco is where and how she wants to be: with her Albiceleste clothes on, with a ball in her hand and training at Cenard with her teammates. Happiness shows in her smile and in every word. You are in your place in the world, no matter what it took you to get there. “I step on the court with this shirt and I forget everything,” says the 17-year-old 17-year-old player who starred in a whole journey to fulfill her illusion of training with part of the U18 preselection.

This is the first national team to practice again and is preparing for the World Cup that will be held between December 6 and 12 in Colombia. “When the possibility of starting to practice at the Cenard was raised, it was my head to be present, I said ‘I’m going or I’m going, yes or yes …’, although I knew that in principle it was for the girls of Buenos Aires. It cost but I succeeded and now I enjoy it because for me the national team is everything. A special feeling, a feeling that gives me nothing, no other shirt “, the Alera admits with emotion, in dialogue with the press of the Argentine Basketball Confederation (CABB) .

For her it all began 10 days ago with inquiries in Mendoza about the chances of leaving the province and arriving in Buenos Aires. “We started looking for alternatives, transport combinations and the issue of authorizations. In Mendoza they told me that it was impossible and here the same, that it was only for the pre-selected girls from Amba. But I never gave up and I was able to do it. Since I’m going to Europe from here, in a few weeks, and I already had the ticket taken out, I was able to use that and I got authorization. My parents asked me if I was sure, because from here I traveled to Italy and I didn’t see them anymore, but I said yes. They authorized me on a Wednesday and on Thursday I took a taxi to get there quickly. It happened from one day to the next, don’t hesitate for a second, to train again and let it be with the National Team, it’s something inexplicable. I missed him a lot and luckily, thanks to all the Cabb management, we were able to train together again, ”says Federica.

She describes it as “a daring”, but says that everything turned out as she had imagined.

“When I stepped onto the pitch I forgot everything, the procedures, the paperwork, the fatigue from the trip, everything … Maybe I’m not in the best physical shape, but I didn’t notice it either. My happiness is so great that it is difficult for me to explain it. I am very excited about everything that is happening to me ”, she acknowledges.

The reunion with the girls also has an impact, which he says are more friends than partners. “Sport has left me my best friends and the national team is something special in that sense. We have been together with this litter for four years and each reunion is very special, emotional. I have no doubt that 50% of who we are as a team is because of the group that we form off the pitch ”, says one of the many members of the 2003 category who has this U18 preselection, giving almost a year of advantage.

Del Bosco takes advantage of every day in Buenos Aires to enhance his present and, obviously, the future. As he will return to Italy, to continue his career, in the mornings he studies Italian and in the afternoon he trains with the national team.

“All these practices will be very good for me to get better when he joins the team. They are more advanced there and this will serve me a lot,” he explains. Fede, who last season played for Campobasso’s team, is about to sign with a team from the Italian second division to complete its second year of youth – a requirement to then take a greater leap – and, in addition, to be able to play in the First as it is the second category.

“I am waiting for the confirmation of which club it will be. I already have the suitcases ready, although I hope it takes a little longer, so I can continue to enjoy these moments with my colleagues and my beloved National Team ”, he closes with his hands in the form of a prayer.
