Does Boris Becker have to go to jail because of his ex-wives?

Secret payments to his ex-wives could be dangerous for the tennis legend.

Not much is left of the former glory of what was once the best tennis player in the world when Boris Becker was on trial in London on Thursday. The reason: Becker is said to have not or incompletely disclosed assets as part of his insolvency proceedings. Prohibited payments to ex-wives

According to the indictment, Becker is said to have made payments to his ex-wife Barbara Becker and still-wife Lilly Becker. Lilly is said to have received 100,000 euros in June 2017 and 5,497 euros two months later. Barbara Becker also received 23,000 euros in 2017 and a little later another 11,000 euros.

However, according to the indictment, Becker should not have made these transfers. For attorney Mark Stephens it could be dangerous for the ex-tennis star “He apparently paid his wives preferentially over other debtors. British law does not tolerate any secret payments, ”the expert told BILD.

No mercy. Becker pleaded “not guilty” on all points and applied for the probation to be relaxed. This was rejected by Judge Deborah Taylor.

Prosecutor Rebecca Chalkley even stepped up and attacked Becker head-on: “He has a bad character. He has numerous bank accounts, likes to move – and is dishonest with money.”
