Jiří Veselý entered the match with Laslo Djer confidently, when he recorded two aces in the first game.

However, his Serbian opponent had more of the game, who broke the service of the Czech number one in the fifth game, which was enough for him to win the opening set 6: 4.

And the second set had the same development. The key moment of the whole match came again at 2: 2, when Djere succeeded on the return for the second time, on the contrary, he did not hesitate once in his service and won the match twice in sets 6: 4.

Macháč was not enough for the favorite

The first set of the quarterfinal duel of the tournament in Alicante between Tomáš Macháč and the 97th player of the world, the Spaniard Pedro Martinez, was directed by the lost serve. The 23-year-old Spaniard, however, recovered quickly from the failed passage, in the decisive set he quickly took the lead 3: 0 and did not let go of the lead. After the result 6: 4, 1: 6 and 6: 2, he secured progress to the semifinals.
