Danny Green’s failed shoot revelation

Before the Lakers were crowned champions in Game 6 of the Finals, their fans lashed out at length and heavily against Danny Green for his costly failure in Game 5. The rear revealed the underside of this missed shot, which necessarily change his perception.

Unless a transfer in which he would serve as a bargaining chip, Danny Green will play well under the colors of the Lakers next season. His contract, which will earn him more than $ 15 million in 2020-21, will not end until the end of the coming fiscal year. Therefore, he will have to make a clean sweep of the recent past, and put aside his turbulent relationship with the Laker Nation.

Recruited by Rob Pelinka in the summer of 2019 at the end of his title with the Raptors, the sniper was called upon to bring his experience and his skill to the game of his new team. This last parameter however regularly escaped him during the regular season, and definitively abandoned it during the playoffs.

His averages of 34.7% on shooting, and 33.9% behind the arc on the postseason have inevitably left fans of the franchise hungry. His shot for the title missed in Game 5 was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and which earned it a wave on the networks. In the last episode of his podcast, the back delivered an important confession to take into account about this devastating failure for him.

Danny Green behaves incredibly candid when talking about his dud at the end of Game 5 in the new “Inside The Green Room”. Worth to be heard. It was pretty clear that Danny was hurt more than he seemed. During this episode, he just mentioned pain in his Achilles heel (which never appeared in the injury report).

Everyone was unaware of this important detail for a shooter, which would necessarily prevent him from taking his support optimally before sending a shot. Add to that the pressure on his shoulders at this precise moment, and you understand better why his banderilla was having such a hard time reaching even the hoop.

Obviously, all the players who were on the floor during the Finals were playing with small injuries. Still, Achilles tendon pain can be terrible for a shooter like Danny Green, and may explain his awkwardness at this crucial moment.
