In a statement released on Saturday, the Jaguars said a member of their training team tested positive for the coronavirus on Friday. The player was placed in segregation and the team began a tracing process to determine if further preventive measures were needed.
The Jaguars (1-4) still preferred to work remotely on Saturday. Their Sunday game against the Detroit Lions (1-3) was still on the schedule.
The New England Patriots canceled training on Friday and then put center James Ferentz’s name on the list of players with COVID-19. He became the fifth player on the team to test positive for the coronavirus.
In the Indianapolis Colts, four positive results were then declared negative after further testing. The Atlanta Falcons resumed training a day after canceling a session when a second squad member tested positive.
