Champions League: 3,500 supporters for Olympiakos-OM – Foot – C1 – GRE

The Greek government on Monday authorized the return to stadiums of a limited number of supporters from this week, after seven months behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Champions League meeting between Olympiakos and Olympique de Marseille on Wednesday in Piraeus will be the first to be affected by this relaxation with the presence of 3,500 supporters. The Europa League match between PAOK and the Cypriots of Omonia Nicosia will also welcome an audience Thursday in Thessaloniki.

A strict health protocol

The announcement by the Greek authorities follows that of UEFA providing for a gradual return of spectators for all its competitions, up to 30% of the capacity of each stadium depending on local restrictions. In addition, one or two matches of the Greek Championship will take place with spectators next weekend. Fans will have to comply with a strict health protocol during matches. Only tickets sold online will be accepted, and spectators must wear a mask, keep a distance of 1.5 m between them, stay in their seats and leave the stadium in small groups.
