Ricky Trays vs. Leandro Higo

Higo is first in the black suitcases and blue gloves, 19-5, and he came over for this fight at 139 pounds in three pounds. Bandejas made the official one-pound allowance and weighed 136. He wears the red swimwear and gloves and goes to The Fugees’ Ready or Not. His previous pro record is 13-4. Higo fights from Natal, Brazil. Bandejas fights out of Coconut Creek, Florida. Kevin MacDonald is the responsible referee.

Round 1: A short tap starts the action. Bandejas resigns and Higo resigns. Bandejas circles his hands and lets go of another kick. Both men cautiously feel the range between them. Bandejas finally lands a kick in a minute. They exchange kicks. Higo pushes him to the fence. Higo falls for a double at 1:57 and has bandejas on his butt. He pushes Bandejas into the cage while looking for a way to get by. Bandejas tries to roll backwards to get out of danger, but Higo is on top of him, throwing rights. Higo rubs the leg and moves onto the full mount at 4:04 a.m. He takes hold of the neck but lets go of it. Bandejas tries to push the fence off with his feet, but he can’t. Higo tries to get a late filing, but Bandejas makes it all the way to the bell. 10-9 Higo.

Round 2: Bandejas opens the second round with kicks. Higo pushes Bandejas closer to the fence. Bandejas connects with a right hand and a left push. Higo shoots in and picks up Bandejas to carry him through the cage like a trophy before finally knocking him down. He takes his back and tries to get the hooks. At 2:12 am he has the butterfly and is in full control. He fishes by the neck and gets it at 2:32 for submission.

Final result: Leandro Higo submission (naked behind) at 2:32 am in round two.


Steve Mowry versus Shawn Teed

Shawn Teed (6-2-1) is the first to go to MOP’s “Ante Up” in black swimming trunks and blue gloves. BROWNSVILLE! HOME OF THE BOLD. Steve Mowry (7-0) joins the tribes of POD’s “Alive” wearing the blue trunks and red gloves. Both men are 28 years old. Mowry is 6’8 “with a reach of 79”, Teed is 6’5 “with a reach of 77”. Teed fights out of Toms River, NJ. Mowry fights out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The umpire is Kerry Hatley.

Round 1: Use the gloves to tap between the big guys to begin. Mowry tries to push Teed early. He keeps propping him towards the fence and Teed tries to push and turn left. Mowry stays with him and discharges himself with one knee. The left and right hooks also connect. Teed tries in vain to charge and cling. 90 seconds have passed. Mowry pursues his opponent and discharges himself with another knee. Teed eats a left hook as he tries to get back in. Teed lands a couple of left thrusts. Mowry kicks in the legs. Mowry clings and lands one knee in the middle. Teed is pushed into the fence. It is circling at 3:06 am. Jab from Mowry. Right hand. Repeat jab to the right. Kick. Mowry dominates the offensive performance this round. Teed wildly misses with a right hook and eats you in return. A crushing knee in the middle drops Teed and Hatley beckons out of the fight seconds later.

Bottom line: Steve Mowry wins by technical knockout at 4:22 in the first round.


Saad Awad versus Almond Nallo

Awad is 37 years old, 23-13 years old, wearing gray swim trunks and red gloves, and fighting in San Bernardino, California. Nallo is 7-1, 31 years old, wearing black swim trunks and blue gloves, and fights in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our referee is Kerry Hatley.

Round 1: Four seconds later, they tap gloves. Nallo immediately kicks Awad. He keeps attacking the same leg and shaves Awad’s head with one kick. Nallo drops it for a split second at 0:59 – Awad is up again immediately and is driven into the fence. Nallo knocks him down for a second at 1:31 and Awad is back again. Awad arches from left knee to groin and Hatley calls the time. Awad is taking so long to recover that CBS Sports Network took a commercial break and he’s still in pain in his knees coughing up a lung when we get back. Awad tries and cannot get back on his feet and Hatley waves his hand out of the fight.

Bottom line: NO COMPETITION due to an accidental hit of the groin at 1:41 of the first lap.
