On Saturday and Sunday, four games for the MagentaSport BBL Cup are on the program in the town hall. The Syntainics MBC receives seven other Bundesliga clubs in its home ground. Depending on the situation, this season the cup will take place in a different mode in tournament form. The 16 qualified teams determine the four participants for the TopFour tournament on November 1st and 2nd in Munich in four groups in each against each other.
Opening opponent Crailsheim
The Syntainics MBC were drawn into group D of FC Bayern Munich, medi bayreuth and HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim. In the first game in Group D, the wolves will meet their former ProA rivals from Crailsheim on Saturday evening (8:30 p.m.). Head coach Silvano Poropat is in good spirits: “We are highly motivated and happy that things are finally going. Even if we are still in the process of finding things out, I am very positive. We will do everything we can to deliver a good game in front of our spectators.”

The MBC head coach draws his confidence from the extremely strong performance of over 35 minutes at the dress rehearsal for the cup last Saturday, the 114: 102 win against league rivals JobStairs GIESSEN 46ers. On Wednesday (October 14th), additional personnel arrived with the American AJ Brodeur. The US forward should – assuming another negative corona test and successful medical check – celebrate his debut in the wolf dress on Saturday against the Merlins. “The game will live from the intensity,” predicts Silvano Poropat.
Before the game of wolves, the opening game of group C between ratiopharm ulm and Brose Bamberg will take place in the town hall at 3 p.m. On Sunday (3 p.m.), the surprise runners-up from the previous season, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, will meet s.Oliver Würzburg in another Group C game. Because ratiopharm ulm, the host of this group, is not in the hall this weekend, these games will also be played in Weißenfels. The game is particularly attractive because the Ludwigsburg team has signed two former Mitteldeutscher BC players, Andrew Warren and Tremmel Darden, in recent days. On Sunday, FC Bayern Munich and medi bayreuth will conclude the first cup weekend in the town hall.
On the following weekend and on Monday, October 26th, the top-class basketball event continues in the town hall with the wolves, FC Bayern, Bayreuth and Crailsheim. A maximum of 1,250 spectators per game are allowed.
