The player from Soria sub-15 of the Club Badminton Soria-CS24 Javier Barrios had an excellent participation in the National Master of the category, this weekend in the Barcelona town of Granollers.
The young rider returned to compete in a test of the highest national level after recovering from a long injury, finishing the tournament with a silver medal in mixed doubles and placing himself among the eight best in the individual modality.
In mixed doubles she was paired with Nerea Eraso from Navarra. In the competition they improved their performance as they advanced in the frame. In the final they fell in two sets.
In the individual modality he had to exert himself in excess until he reached the quarterfinals, arriving without the necessary freshness to advance to the next round. Even so, he sold the loss to the number two seed by 21-19, 13-21 and 18-21 dearly.
The feelings with which Javier Barrios returns from the tournament are very positive since, with just two months of quality training, he was at the level of the best national players, although he lacked competitive rhythm.
With these good performances, both Javier and the coaches of the Soria club are already setting their first goals for the future. The first is to climb positions in the national ranking that allows them to qualify for the Spanish championship, necessary from this sub15 category.
