Barcelona wins the Euroleague Classic against Real Madrid (79-72)

Nothing is going well in Real Madrid basketball, no better than the football section. Sergio Llull’s teammates lost Friday at the Palau Blaugrana in Barcelona (79-72) for the fourth time in five Euroleague meetings.

In this Classic behind closed doors, because of health measures, the Madrilenians without the French Fabien Causeur – positive for the coronavirus – only experienced a brief burst at the end of the match to pick up the score and give it a less heavy scale. But they were already behind at the break (48-27) against Barcelona yet deprived of their star Nikola Mirotic (Covid-19).

In his absence, Brandon Davis (14 points) and Kyle Kuric (15) provided leadership. Thomas Heurtel played 14 minutes for 6 points and 1 assist.

The right operation for the Maccabi

Friday evening, Maccabi Tel Aviv managed the good operation of the evening by winning after extra time in Moscow on the field of Khimki (89-87) despite the 32 points and 11 assists of the returning Aleksey Shved, who shot at 9 on 23 and lost eight balls in the process.

In Tel Aviv, Greece-US back Tyler Dorsey (26 points to 8 of 13 three points) was the strong man of the evening. Khimki is still a fanny after five days.

For its part, Bayern Munich for its part confirmed its good start in the competition by dominating Olympiakos (74-68) on Friday with 18 points from Wade Baldwin.
