Barça no longer has a president!

Josep Maria Bartomeu has (finally) resigned as president of FC Barcelona.

It was expected, it is done. Josep Maria Bartomeu, the president of FC Barcelona, and the rest of the board of directors tendered their resignations on Tuesday evening, in the wake of yet another crisis meeting held at Camp Nou. The beginning of the revolution within the Catalan club will be able to begin, after several years of mismanagement, which could have resulted in the departure of Lionel Messi.

Monday afternoon, the leaders of the Blaugrana had decided not to act, still clinging to their respective posts. As a reminder, Jordi Farre, Catalan businessman and candidate for the presidency of the FCB, has collected nearly 20,000 signatures allowing to launch a motion of censure against the management. The referendum was to be scheduled within 15 days, ie this weekend.

Bartomeu and his subordinates tried to postpone the vote to the Generalitat de Catalunya, for health reasons. But this referendum was maintained until next Sunday and Monday and the Catalan president has therefore decided to withdraw before the great upheaval of the next few days.
