Like every year, Badminton Val-de-Reuil-Louviers (Eure), started the season with an overwhelming appetite. Struck by bad luck in the semifinals of the championship National 2, the Eurois club missed the promotion in National 1 last year.

But to believe the president, Sylvie Loze, this is only a postponement and the climb could be validated this year.

“We will go up. It is our destiny ! “

We could have gone up last year but a player was injured in the semifinals, explains the president. We’ve been trying to get into National 1 for three years. We have the level to get there. I’m sure we’ll go up. It is our destiny !

A speech in accordance with the ambitions of the rolivalo-loverian agreement which currently has 50 registered players in competition for a total number of 70 licensees. This figure should double by the end of the season with the arrival of new practitioners in the “leisure” niches.

“Recognized at national level”, the BVRL benefits from an annual budget of € 21,500. A substantial sum but largely absorbed by its main team, the club’s real locomotive.

The national is costing us. We have travel, meals, clothing and arbitration fees to pay, says the president. We also take care of registrations for individual tournaments. It is essential to reward our players and keep them.

In order to amortize expenses, volunteers are busy throughout the year to ensure the daily running of the club. But also to convince the two town halls to maintain their subsidies.

In constant search of grants

We always need more money. We organize events like the night of sport and we participate in the forum of associations, continues Sylvie Loze. We are constantly looking for grants. We are asked to set up shares in the two cities.

To date, € 14,000 has been allocated by the municipality of Val-de-Reuil against only € 6,500 from the town hall of Louviers.

A gap that can be explained by the needs to which the town hall of Louviers must meet, as explained José Pirès, deputy in charge of youth and sports.

In Louviers, we are lucky to have a lot of sports clubs. We try to give satisfaction to everyone. We have a global envelope distributed by the WHO according to objective criteria.

One of these criteria concerns the number of licensees from associations. And that of BVRL badminton could only increase with the obtaining of new slots which would allow it to welcome new members.

A family club

A complicated problem to solve when you already have to live with other indoor sports clubs.

In Val-de-Reuil, the Alphonse Allais gymnasium is shared with handball. In Louviers, we share the Paul Morin gymnasium with basketball, recalls Sylvie Loze.

However, it will take more to demoralize the energetic president who recalls that the Loverian subsidy has doubled in a few years from “from 3000 to 6500 €”.

Beyond the financial constraints, it relies above all on the “family” state of mind which allows the club to be continuously on a favorable slope.

We are united and everyone is united! This is how a club lives well.

Let it be said, morale is high at BVRL! And that positive energy translates into victories on the pitch. With three successes in as many games played, the first team is already firmly established at the head of its group and seems more ready than ever to fulfill “its destiny” by rising to the top floor.

Next meeting at home for the BVRL, on Saturday November 30, in front of Bethune (Pas-de-Calais) from 3:45 p.m. at the gymnasium Alphonse Allais.
