The Salvadoran Badminton Federation (Fesalbad) reported this week that its senior teams have returned to the courts to resume their training individually.
The reopening of its facilities has been possible after the approval of the sanitary protocol for responsible return to sports activities, by the National Institute of Sports of El Salvador (INDES) and the Ministry of Health (MINSAL).
José Armando Bruni, president of Fesalbad, expressed that it has been a joy for the athletes to return to the fields after being in mandatory confinement for several months due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
“As of today, we have started with those with the major and federated teams, we also started with San Miguel, which is quite important, not only here in San Salvador, we are also waiting to start in all the venues we have in the interior of the country . At the moment, more or less approximately 25 athletes are being served in El Polvorín, we could attend more but due to the same issue of the pandemic, we cannot diversify the schedules much, ”Bruni commented.
The leader also reported that as a federation they do not rule out developing the III El Salvador International 2020, the last event on the calendar of activities of the World Badminton Federation (BWF) which takes place in mid-December.
“A few days ago they sent us the health protocols dictated by the World Badminton Federation and the Pan American Badminton Federation, so that we can get costs. The cost of the event rises due to the pandemic, because there are very specific things in disinfection issues, “said the manager.
In that sense, the federative explained that the international requests that athletes not travel agglomerated in the same transport. that there is continuous temperature measurement, as well as that all people who are within the organization of the event must be tested for COVID-19, among other requirements, so the necessary adjustments must be made to guarantee the best conditions .
