Badminton – Mödlinger Trio got top placements at ÖM

With the brothers Christian and Michael Tomic and Armin Sarosi, Mödling sent three of his youngsters to the Austrian U17 and U19 championships.

In total, the Mödlingers were able to win six medals, especially Michael Tomic stood out, who won half of the medals with gold in men’s doubles U17, silver in singles U19 and bronze in mixed U17. Despite the yield, Michael Tomic was not entirely satisfied, especially after his defeat in the final against Nicolas Rudolf in the U19 competition: “This defeat hurts because my chance in the second set was great and I had set myself the championship title as my goal.”

Michael Tomic gave in the second set with 18:21 after winning the first, and then lost the decisive set with 14:21. In the U17 men’s doubles, he faced his club colleagues Christian Tomic and Armin Sarosi, who lost in three sets and took silver in the final.

Christian Tomic also won bronze in the U17 competition, but was self-critical despite the medal: “I haven’t exhausted what I normally can do and I’m very disappointed with myself.” Sarosi stayed with the double medal Christian Tomic: In the individual, the end followed after round one.
