BÁDMINTON Carolina Marín and Bea Corrales go to quarters in Germany

Carolina Marín, first favorite, and Bea Corrales qualified this Thursday for the quarterfinals of the Saarlorlux Open, which takes place in Saarbrücken (Germany), after defeating the German Fabienne Deprez and the Irish Rachel Darragh respectively. The Huelva won by 21-15 and 21-9 in 25 minutes, while the Madrilenian did it by 21-18 and 27-25 in 41. The result could have been more bulky for Carolina Marín, since in the first set she was 20-10 and it was difficult for her to close the sleeve.

The next rival of the Spanish Olympic and world champion will be the French Qi Xuefei, fifth favorite and executioner of the Welsh Jordan Hart by 21-17 and 21-11. Bea Corrales also qualified for the quarterfinals, in her case at the expense of Rachel Darragh. After a first set in which the Spanish was almost always in command on the scoreboard, in the second set she started with an 11-5 against, but a partial of 1-7 returned the equality to the scoreboard until the final 27-25 fought . In the quarterfinals, the Madrilenian will face the German Ivonne Li, sixth favorite, who beat the Estonian Kristin Kuuba by 21-15 and 21-8.
