Arturo Ruiz returns to the Spanish federation as technical director

Madrid, Oct 25 (EFE) .- Arturo Ruiz will return, as of January 1, 2021, to the Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA) as the new technical director.

That is the position he currently holds in the Italian federation, in addition to being responsible for its national center, but as of January 1, 2021 the new president of the FESBA, Andoni Azurmendi, will have his figure within the structure of the federation Spanish.

“It is an emotional moment because of the opportunity given to me and because I left a family in Italy after seven years working on a project that I started from scratch. I am very excited about Andoni Azurmendi’s project and with the possibility of returning to Spain. I want to thank the president above all for the trust that the president has always placed in me, with great enthusiasm for this new position, this new project, “he commented.



Arturo Ruiz will be the new technical director of the Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA) as of January 1, 2021.

“Until now the technical director of the entire Italian Federation and head of its National Center, returns to the FESBA, for which he worked at the Alicante Technification Center and was responsible for national teams,” the institution reported in a statement.

In addition to directing the Talents project of the Pan American Badminton Confederation and the Summer School of the European Badminton Confederation, Arturo Ruiz has dedicated the last 7 years to directing Italian badminton, with which he won two historic medals in an international tournament: the Bronze for Strobl and Osele at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona in 2018 and team gold at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires 2018.

In his previous stage at the FESBA, Arturo Ruiz was, together with Fernando Rivas, part of the technical team that represented Spanish badminton at the London 2012 Olympic Games, in which Carolina Marín and Pablo Abián competed.
