IMPORTANT GIANT MEETING WITH CAMERON TO SECURE THE FUTURE
GWS is doing everything possible to convince star striker Jeremy Cameron to stay at the club, but there is growing conviction that he played his last game for the Giants.
Cameron spent Wednesday afternoon with club boss Dave Matthews, Channel 7 boss James Warburton and new Giants striker Steve Johnson at the high-end Rockpool restaurant Herald Sun..
The club made a five-year offer close to $ 750,000 a year to the 27-year-old, but Geelong is right in the running for his signature.
AFL Media Reporter Damian Barrett said today he is now leaning towards Cameron, who is leaving the giants and joining the cats.
“I’m starting to bend over to him slightly to go to Geelong given the delay and the chance he’ll have to say he’s staying,” he said.
fellow AFL Media Reporter Mitch Cleary said the longer Cameron’s future is tied, the more likely they are with Geelong since they are still in the finals.
“I think there is now a very high probability that Jeremy Cameron will find his way to Geelong as a restricted free agent,” he said AFL Media’s Trade Desk.
“My ears were perky last week when I asked Chris Scott about Jeremy Cameron and he said that when their season is over, players like Jeremy are always happy to stick with the teams that are still in the finals.
“That tells me if Jeremy Cameron doesn’t sign before Geelong’s season is over, the Giants will go off with alarm bells.”

With Cameron, a restricted free agent, the Giants have the ability to match and keep any offer from a rival club.
This has never been the case before, as clubs sometimes threatened to abide by the terms of the contract before working out a bargain deal instead – especially with Patrick Dangerfield’s move from Adelaide to Geelong.
Foxfooty.com.au Senior reporter Tom Morris believes the Giants will be closely monitoring the opportunity while knowing the cats have the assets that could satisfy Leon Cameron’s side in a deal.
“Don’t be surprised if he nominates Geelong as a target of his choice for the Giants to qualify,” Morris told Fox Sports News. AFL Tonight.
“We know Geelong has three picks for the first round and they could force her to trade.”
BOMBER, LION MEET OVER DANIHER DEAL
Essendon and Brisbane have started preliminary talks on the future of key striker Joe Daniher.
Although Daniher is a free agent, expectations are growing that the two clubs could be forced into a trade if the bombers match a Lions deal.
With a contract of around $ 600,000 per year, this will likely match a first round pick, currently pick 20.
However, since the bombers are likely to want more than this choice for Daniher, the Lions would have to make a better deal if an offer from a free agency matches.
According to SEN’s Sam Edmund, the first talks between the two parties did not go smoothly.
It was reported by nine Earlier this week, Essendon had asked Carlton to give up one of Charlie Curnow, Harry McKay, or Sam Walsh, or to look at a deal with the club’s first choice and young, tall Tom De Koning.
SEN reported that the Lions were presented with a similar collection of high profile players, despite Daniher being a free agent.
Injury-ridden Daniher has only played 15 games in the last three seasons.
