Nice performance by the Volant Gigeannais badminton club, with Émilie Philippe, finalist of series 3, with Pascal Tailleur de Florensac, Stéphane Nguyen and Édith Parazol, finalists of series 2. Indeed, the club organized, last weekend , the Victor tournament, doubles competition, at the sports hall.
More than 150 participants played in a festive and friendly atmosphere and in compliance with health protocol (masks, gel, direction of movement, no refreshment bar, etc.).
Stéphan Rico, deputy mayor, delegate for youth and sports, and Daniel Barré, in charge of entertainment and festivities, were present for the award ceremony. Club president Pierre Canard congratulated: “The success of this weekend, despite the difficult sanitary conditions indoors, gives us great pleasure and bodes well for the coming season.”
The club has 45 members this year. Space is still available, trial sessions are possible, do not hesitate to inquire about this physical and technical sport, the 3rd most practiced sport in the world after football and tennis!
