A French woman wins Roland-Garros for juniors

Elsa Jacquemot succeeds Kristina Mladenovic, titled 11 years ago.

A French woman can therefore win Roland-Garros! Elsa Jacquemot won the junior tournament, where she succeeds Kristina Mladenovic, titled eleven years ago.

Imperial throughout the tournament, the 17-year-old had to fight in the final where she lost a set for the first time. Led 6-4, 4-2, Jacquemot played eight games in a row to end up dominating the Russian Alina Charaeva (4-6, 6-4, 6-2) in three sets.

World No. 6 among juniors, Jacquemot represents the future of French tennis with Diane Parry and Clara Burel, who reached the 3rd round of the main tournament this year.
