17 years since LeBron James debut in the NBA

On a day like today, but in 2003, LeBron James made his NBA debut wearing the Cleveland Cavaliers jersey and wearing the mythical number 23 immortalized by Michael Jordan on his back. LeBron came to the Cavs after becoming a basketball phenomenon with St. Vincent-St. Mary, even ESPN spent their team’s games in an unprecedented event in the sports world. Bron was selected in the first pick of the 2003 Draft and in his NBA debut game he scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists against the Kings in Sacramento.

From his first game, LeBron James began to make history by becoming the first player to jump from high school to professional basketball and scored 25 points in his first game. LeBron was named the Rookie of the Year for that season, being the first to earn this recognition in the history of the Cleveland Cavaliers. That is how LeBron James made his triumphant arrival in the NBA, and although in his first two seasons he failed to lead the team to the Playoffs, years later he helped win the first and only title that the Cavs have in their windows.
