The Latvian “Optibet” hockey league (OHL) game “Zemgale” / LLU on Saturday threw six discs in the second period and destroyed “Prizma” / IHS.

“Zemgale” / LLU guests won “Prizma” / IHS with 11: 3 (3: 0, 6: 0, 2: 3) and celebrated their fourth success in five games.
By the sixth minute of the game, Aleksandrs Visockis had scored two goals in favor of the “Zemgalians”, but before going to rest, Aleksandrs Novikovs scored 3: 0. In the first minute of the second third, Kirill Tambiyev and Richard Briņec stood out, but Alexander Galkin stood out twice, while Robert Jekimov and Richard Bernhard added another goal.
In the final 20 minutes, Kristers Bormanis, Rihards Ķuzis and Gusts Yegorovs stood out in the “Prizma” / IHS team, but Jekimovs and Tambijevs stood out again in favor of the guests.
Tambiyev finished the game with 2 + 3, Galkins scored one pass less, but 2 + 1 at the expense of Visock and Yekimov. Artūrs Homjakovs closed the game with three assists.
“Liepāja” and “Olimp” / “Venta 2002”, as well as Daugavpils “Dinaburga” and “Mogo” / LSPA will meet on Saturday.
“Zemgale” / LLU is leading the tournament table with eight points in five matches, but “Liepāja” also has the same number of points in four games. Seven points are “Olimp” / “Venta 2002”, while six points in five battles are followed by “Mogo” / LSPA. Hockey school “Riga” and “Prizma” / IHS have scored three points in five duels, but “Dinaburga” is in beige.
2020/2021 Teams of “Mogo” / LSPA, “Olimp” / “Venta 2002”, “Zemgale” / LLU, Hockey school “Riga”, Daugavpils “Dinaburga”, “Prizma” / IHS and “Liepāja” are playing in OHL season.
Last season, eight teams played in the Latvian Super League, but in 2020/21. in the season will be one team less, because the tournament does not play “Kurbads”.
The playoffs were not played last season, but “Olimp” was declared the winner of the local championship. The newcomer to the tournament won the decisive points after “Riga” did not come to the last match of the season with the “Kurbads” team.
With its success, the Olimp earned the OHL the opportunity to compete in the International Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) Continental Cup, but the international competition was canceled.
