SUPERBALL.ID – Tottenham Hotspur must give up on a draw in the third week of the 2020/2021 Premier League.

Against Newcastle United, Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw thanks to a penalty awarded by the referee in the final seconds of the match.

Jose Mourinho’s side’s stellar form during the match plus a goal from Lucas Moura in the first half, was ruined by a controversial VAR decision.

When the game entered second half injury time, a header from Newcastle player Andy Carroll appeared to hit the hand of Tottenham defender, Eric Dier.

In the VAR survey, Eric Dier clearly turned his back on the ball as he jumped when the ball hit his arm.

VAR took a long time to make a decision before the referee finally pointed to the spot.

A penalty was then well executed by Callum Wilson and Newcastle equalized.

Seeing Newcastle getting a penalty, Tottenham coach, Jose Mourinho, immediately left the field as a sign of his frustration with the referee’s decision.
