Vikings complete training squad with three signings

After last weekend’s finals, the Minnesota Vikings rounded out the majority of their practice squad by signing 13 players, all of whom had been in training camp with the squad. They rounded out their 16-man training squad on Monday with three more signings.

As mentioned earlier in the week, the Vikings signed kicker Chase McLaughlin to the practice squad. We heard about the potential signing on Sunday, but it became official on Monday. McLaughlin spent a week on the Vikings’ practice squad last season, then bounced back on a few other teams, including the San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts. The Colts released him earlier this year, and now he ends up with Minnesota.

The team also brought back linebacker Hardy Nickerson, who spent training camp with the Vikings but was called off when the team claimed former New York Giants linebacker Ryan Connelly on Sunday.

The other new face of the practice squad is defensive tackle Albert Huggins, Huggins was an undrafted free agent for Clemson in 2019 and has rebounded a lot. He had two stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and two with the Houston Texans. He also spent time with the New England Patriots and was most recently with the Detroit Lions.

With these three signings, the entire Vikings training squad looks like this:
