On Monday, Joe Biden gave a speech in Pittsburgh in which he exposed the stark differences between a vote for him in November and a vote for Donald Trump. “This president,” he said, “long ago lost all moral leadership in this country. It cannot stop violence because it has been fomenting it for years. He may believe that pronouncing the words law and order makes him strong. But his failure to ask his supporters to stop acting as an armed militia in this country shows how weak he is. Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is re-elected? “What Biden didn’t say, but perhaps implied, is that Americans have a very simple decision to make: Do they want a healthy and relatively lucid individual to run the country, or would they want a second serving from the shit buffet with one side? used syringes and a late-stage dementia night cap?
As if to underline this distinction, Trump appeared last night on Fox News for an interview with Laura Ingraham in which he offered his certifiably insane take on the issues of the day. Hours after defending Kyle Rittenhouse, the vigilante teenager who killed two protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the president explained that while much of the country is horrified and currently protesting police brutality against blacks, he does not see shooting unarmed civilians as a major problem . Indeed? It is basically on par with a miss in golf.
It’s just like golf, you know? Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you fatally shoot a person, but in the end it’s all gravy, baby.
Later, apparently worried he was coming off a bit mashed potato compos mentis, Trump has launched into full conspiracy theory mode, informing Ingraham that Biden is controlled by covert dark forces, whose details he cannot enter but trust him, are all too real. Biden, Trump said, is simply a puppet for “people you’ve never heard of, people who are in the dark … people who are on the streets, people who control the streets.” And what about dark figures? “We got someone on a plane from a certain city this weekend,” Trump told Ingraham. “And on the plane, it was almost completely laden with thugs, wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms, with gear and this and that.” Asked for more information on the situation, the president objected, claiming he was under investigation but that he would tell the Fox host “sometime”.
As usual, it is by no means clear what Trump is talking about, or why he has yet to be engaged, but there is (1) no evidence of such a leak and (2) a strong possibility that the president is repeating a denied rumor. . which circulated on Facebook nearly three months ago. According to NBC News:
